Covid 19 Pandemic across the globe created a lot of changes in educational sector and now Online education is the only option left for schools and colleges to continue teaching students. The situation forced many colleges and universities to conduct Online Examination for final year students and many student bodies, Teacher’s and Students opposed the decision.
On 24th June, 2020 Dr. RP Nishank Union Cabinet Minister of HRD ask Univeristy Grant Commission (UGC) to revise the guidelines released for Final year students and Universities on end semester exams.
UGC officials acknowledged the request and formed a panel with some experts who are taking necessary decision regarding the same. From past few days, many meetings conducted but panel was not came to a solution.
From our sources we also came to know that UGC will release the guidelines in a day or two of the request (Which was made on 24th June). But, as of now there is no official notice released.
Many Student bodies and teachers association celebrated the victory as UGC decided to reccomend Universities to promote final year students on the basis of previous semester grades but there was no official notice till now so we cannot comment on this statement.
Manu Universities across India were going to conduct online exams from 1st July including Punjab University, Delhi University, Lovely Professional Univeristy, Amity University, S.P jain, etc. But after the request made to UGC, All universities have postponed their exams which created pressure on the students.
Universities across the nation took this decision to take more time on discussion with the officials and maybe UGC will declare an official statement soon. It was also assumed that UGC will reccomend all Universities to promote final year students without exams.
