IIMs have decided not to increase fee this year

IIMs have decided not to increase their fees for MBA programmes this year because of the pandemic. An increase of 2-3% in fees is done every year but it will not be done in this academic session. The institute have decided not to increase the fee but some are not in favour of giving fee waiver that students want.
Directors of IIM Udaipur, Jannat Shah said the classes for one year programme resumed online in May. Fee waiver will not be possible as institutes have to bear the operational costs. Students will be back on campus as soon as MHRD guidelines are released, he further added.

Himanshu Rai, director of IIM Indore also said that operational costs are not reduced because of lockdown. The cost of payment of staff and faculty is the same and institutes had to invest a good amount of money for IT softwares and other equipment. He further added that students can’t have online classes during the whole year as campus experience plays an important role in students’ life for their development and many other factors.
Institutes are planning to resume campus operations for the second year MBA programme in mid July and for first year in mid August.
