New Delhi : The Supreme Court to hear plea challenging UGC guidelines seeking cancellation of final year exams tomorrow, monday. The hearing will begin at 10:30 in the morning.
The plea challenged the July 6 UGC guidelines that made it compulsory for universities to conduct final year exams.
However, Many universities in India are going ahead with the online examination mode of evaluation. The corona situation is getting worse day by day in India. Yesterday India recorded 65k cases in a single day.
The Online mode of examination is not feasible for thousands of students neither Indian universities have proper infrastructure to conduct online exams with ease. Since, DU decided to conduct online exams from August 10, protest against the university was started and students also filed a case against DU in HC.

Since, the matter is already listed in the apex court, HC cannot provide relief to DU students. Advocate Alakh alok srivastava who filed petition in SC against UGC on the behalf of 31 students is fully prepared for tomorrow’s hearing.
Supreme Court in the last hearing on July 31 directed MHA to clear its stand on final year exams. Unfortunately, MHA has not filed any affidavit till now.
UGC on the other hand has directed Universities to continue with the preparations of exams. No one knows when Supreme court will pronounce final judgement on the case and on which side the order will be passed.
