DUSU led 3-day Leadership Summit commences today. Nearly 10,000 students participating from across the country.
Smriti Irani, Suresh Prabhu, N.R. Narayana Murthy, Yogeshwar Dutt, Kiran Majumdar Shaw, Swati Piramal and other luminaries will address the students.
A 3-day Delhi University Leadership Summit being organized by the Delhi University Students’ Union commenced today. The virtual conference, which will host distinguished speakers from various spheres of life was inaugurated by Shri Sunil Ambekar, the Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh of RSS. The event, which will draw to a close on 30 June 2020 has been witnessing an average participation of nearly 10,000 students during each session. In terms of scale and scope, this is a one-of-a-kind virtual summit to be organized by any varsity in India.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, Member of Parliament Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Olympic bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy, Vice-President of Piramal Group Ms. Swati Piramal and other luminaries will address the students at the virtual summit. The role of students in contemporary society, challenges faced by the differently abled students and the road ahead, women in positions of global leadership, the challenges confronting the global and the Indian economy, subjects like sports as well as literature, and other similar issues will be discussed at the virtual conference. There will be question-answer session too.
Shri Sunil Ambekar highlighted the exemplary role of student movements during the freedom struggle and the Emergency. He spoke at length about the innate potential of the country’s aspirational and youthful demography and urged everyone to contribute towards building a stronger and more prosperous India. He said, “The students must leverage technology to respond to the emerging challenges in the academic sphere. India, with its youthful demography must be a source of inspiration for the world. We need more young people in leadership roles in every possible sphere of life.”

DUSU President Akshit Dahiya, DUSU Vice-President Pradeep Tanwar and DUSU Joint-Secretary Shivangi Kharwal, in a joint-statement, said, “This leadership summit provides an excellent opportunity to comprehensively understand and appreciate various issues presently impacting India’s youth. This is a unique summit and has received an overwhelming response from the student community. We are hopeful of a blueprint for future steps that will yield positive outcomes for the country’s youth.”
