Students at DU got off with their semester-end exams and were having their winter break. While some students were busy planning a holiday or a trip back home, there were some who didn’t even take a single day’s leave. These students, who happen to be the members of the student union, were busy planning for their respective college’s annual cultural fest.
The time between January to March is the main time when fests are organised in the entire university and one of the toughest challenges it brings along with it is the arrangement of sponsorship. This is why these holidays were the only time they had to plan and get sponsorships.
Nayan Jhangiani, the media head of Janki Devi Memorial College reported that immediately after their exams, she and her teammates got busy and didn’t even take a single day’s leave. Reportedly, their fest will be organized in the second week of January, and till then these students can’t even afford to think about rest.
Some Students, such as Payal Chauhan, the president of JDMC, who is an outstation student amongst many others had even cancelled their trips to their respective hometowns. A whole lot of strategic planning, regular followups, and many such efforts go into getting sponsorships.
Some students and their teammates were busy getting sponsorships even at the time of their exams. One such example is Dilmeet Kaur, the Public Relations Officer from Gargi College, who is heading and managing a team of 15 students and worked through entire holidays to get sponsorships as this was the only time to build a base for their fest.
