Delhi University has constituted a working group to oversee examination related matters. The group is headed by the Dean examination and includes Directors, Joint Directors, Deans of other departments, Assistant registration of Examination Branch among others. The decision of the group will be on the basis of UGC Exam guidelines released in the last week of April.
The prime work of the group will be to study all matters related to examinations, review the preparedness to conduct the examination of the academic year 2019-20, and take appropriate steps in this regard. In case the working group needs the advice from an expert, the group can co-opt any expert, with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
Meanwhile, the University shifted to the online mode of teaching and learning from March onwards. But to further strengthen and augment this exercise in the greater benefit of the students’ many tools are introduced that include Google Hangout, Google Meet, Google Classroom, Microsoft teams, Zoom, and Discord.
These tools will help the students to understand the course contents better and provide them the opportunity to clear their doubts.
The University, for now, will remain closed for two more weeks. The academic calendar has also been modified. The dates of dispersal of classes for even semester of the academic session 2019- 2020 will be from May 15 instead of April 28.
The officials are also discussing to keep semester exams online like DTU by releasing a set of guidelines on the basis of practical assumptions for the students. Examination should be of 2 hours consisting 5 long answers and additional 15 minuted to submit through web portal developed by delhi university. There is no official confirmation on this by the university. University will soon release an official notification on the official website next week.
