Delhi University Mock test was filled with glitches

On the absolute first day of online OBE being directed by the University of Delhi, the activity ran into glitches with a few final year students claiming that they were either incapable to enroll for the test or got question papers for a totally different semester.

Student’s feedback on OBE

Himanshu Vats says “Can’t find question papers of my subject which is Pol science on the examination portal”

Ravneet Kaur says “An error occur due to which student’s are not able to upload their answer sheets and 2 hours for the exam is not enough, I and my friends completed only 2.5 questions out of 4”

Many student’s says that “Site crashed in the middle of exam, Portal shows Gateway error 404, 502 and 508. SOL OBE panel was down for more than 20 minutes or eve more in the last Slot”

What Examination Dean, Vinay Gupta said

Professor Vinay Gupta, Dean of Examinations, DU, said that the allegations made by the students are incorrect as the mock test is only meant to familiarise final-year students with the process of downloading and uploading answer scripts. More than 80000 people have successfully logged on.

“In the mock test, we have not linked students with any specific paper. Since there are around 8,000 papers, you can’t put each and every one of them for a mock test. As mentioned in the notice, these are indicative question papers, and around 38 of them have been uploaded for the mock test.”

DUTA Say on the Mock Test

Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) office bearer, Prof Abha Dev Habib, said that if the Mock tests were just intended to acquaint student’s with the method, the University should have uploaded one paper.

“The students were expecting to see papers that were relevant to them. If they had to upload old papers, that were mock in nature, they could have just asked students to write on movies or write about the quarantine period. This is nonsense… why are they giving papers to students that are irrelevant?”

Lokesh Chugh, National secretary, Media Incharge, NSUI Laughs

University of Delhi Administration has announced a war against students by deciding to conduct open book examinations. The mock test conducted has went awry with invalid registrations, wrong question papers, question papers being recieved after hours of the beginning of the exam etc. University of Delhi has neither the man power, nor the intellectual resources to conduct an open book test.
