
Delhi University has recently released a notice which reveals that several changes have been made to the academic calendar for the year 2019-20. Because of the coronavirus pandemic currently surrounding the nation, DU has decided to extent this year’s semester dispersal to May 15 for all the even semesters.
According the original academic calendar, the classes for all even semesters were supposed to be dispersed on April 28, 2020. Due to the lockdown extension till May 3, DU had to extend the date of dispersal of classes for even semesters.
An official notice in this regard has been released on the official website of Delhi University. Candidates who want to read the detailed notice can do so by visiting du.ac.in.
According to the official academic calendar, the classes for even semesters begin on January 1 and are suspended on May 15. This year, because unusual circumstances, DU had to postpone the semester dispersal date for the safety of the students and the staff.
DU had also conducted a webinar for visually impaired students to help them deal with the daily inconveniences they are facing during this lockdown.
All educational institutes have been shut down amid the coronavirus outbreak and the nationwide lockdown. Entrance and recruitment examinations have been postponed until further notice and the dates will most likely be announces after May 3, when the lockdown is lifted.
