Mahesh Kumar battling ‘haemophilia A’ and 3 others were allowed to pursue MBBS as Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) to allow them under disability quota.

Kumar told about how on the first day of his class he was told that his admission was cancelled as he was found to be ineligible for admission under disability category.

Other two are suffering hearing impairment and dyslexia . Haemophilia A is a disorder in which blood doesn’t clot normally and excessive bleeding might even lead to the patient’s death . Hearing impairment includes total , partial or the significant part of hearing . Dyslexic patients have difficulty in carrying out academic activities accompanied by slow learning.

Students coming under disability quota must be given proper help throughout their admission and harassment cases like this one must not happen in future so that these students don’t feel differentiated and alienated .
