Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based entrance test for MBA/ PGDM admissions into various prestigious B-schools like IMM, FMS, IIM etc. in India. It is basically a computer-based entrance exam. It is one of the toughest competitive entrance examinations in our country and many students dream of landing into top B-schools like IMM after appearing for CAT.

 

How many times CAT is conducted in a year?

The CAT Exam is conducted once in a year by different IIMs on a rotational basis and this time IIM Ahmedabad is conducting this prestigious examination on 28th November, 2021 (Sunday).

 

Last Date for registration:

The last date for CAT 2021 registrations was on 22nd September.

Admit Card release:-

Almost 2.31 Lakh students will appear for CAT in 2021 and the admit card for CAT Exam will be released on 27th October at 5:00 p.m. The admit card for the CAT Exam can be downloaded at iimcat.ac.in jby entering CAT login ID and password and captcha code. After downloading the admit card, candidates are required to verify all the personal information such as registration number, guidelines, exam centre, timings for exam.

 

Official Mock test release:-

Till now, the official mock test hasn’t been released but soon will be released on the official website. There is no change in CAT syllabus and exam pattern for the year 2021.

 

Exam Centres:-

This year’s CAT exam will be conducted in three slots at 400 total exam centres in 159 cities including Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir). For a better understanding of the guidelines of the exam, the exam conducting body will be releasing a official tutorial video in the first week of November, 2021. The results for CAT Exam will be released on first week of January, 2021.

 

Eligibility criteria for CAT 2021:-

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any disciplinary field with 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD) from a recognized institute/ university.

  • Students who are in the final year of their graduation can also appear for CAT 2021.

 

CAT Exam Pattern:-

The CAT entrance exam analyse your analytical, verbal and reasoning skills. Hence, the exam paper will be made up of 3 sections:-

  1. Verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC)

  2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)

  3. Quantitative Ability (QA)

 

Total Questions in Exam:-

The CAT Question paper consists of around 76 questions.

 

Exam Centre preference:-

Candidates can prefer total 6 exam centres according to their preference.
