To everyone’s surprise, humanities courses have attracted the maximum applications by the aspiring students this year in Delhi University. The registration process, which ended on 22nd June recorded a total of 3,67,895 registrations out of which 2,58,388 actually went ahead with the payment.
The top courses with highest applicants BA English Hons was the most sought course amongst the applicants, with a total of 1,42,979 students applying for it. This was followed by BA Pol Science Hons, for which 1,30,240 students applied and then BA Programme which had a total of 1,25,519 applicants.
BA Economics Hons was the fourth most popular course with a total of 1,24,538 applications, followed by BA History Hons, drawing up for a total of 1,20,590 applications.
Others courses included in the top 10 were BA Psychology (Hons), BA Journalism (Hons), BA Society (Hons) and BA Geography (Hons).
B Com Hons was at the tenth position with 1,06,549 applications and was the only non- humanities subject to be included in the list.
