​400+ applications are in for Free Classes by University of Delhi for PG entrance

Preparatory classes for the entrance exams to post graduation courses of Delhi University have received 405 applications this year. These classes are only for candidates from SC, ST, OBC, Economically weaker sections and backward minorities , ex-servicemen and  wards of war widows.
The Course for entrance examinations  starts from Friday for commerce, chemistry, regulation, physics and zoology and for maths, it will start from June 5. Many registrations are acquired for regulation i.e, 94 and for maths it’s 45 registrations.
There were very less registrations for Political science and journalism preparatory courses, therefore the courses have been cancelled for this session. 
Shrikant Kukreti, a programme coordinator said, ” the purpose is to help college students who cannot afford personal tutions and who are usually not financially robust. ”
The preparatory courses shall be taken by DU Professors that is to be held till June 15. For every course, the classes will be of total 90 minutes and there are 4 courses that will be followed by panel discussions. So far, the responses are very positive. 
Kukreti said, “there has been a 25-30% of success rate in entrance exam from last 2 years and many candidates have benefited from these classes.”
The classes of the courses can be held at 6 venues, including department of physics and astrophysics and arts faculty extension building, University of Delhi, north campus.
